Existentialism & AI regulation
Description
This is WSC Agora: usually described as an immersive & always-too-short conversation about legal regulation on AI, our roles and what to do to be compliant... & inevitable exchange of philosophical standpoints.
This lecture is intended to provide a systematic and concise overview of the most important EU AI Act elements, as it is already partially in force. Primary thing is to become aware of the roles that the EU AI Act defines depending on how we interact with AI systems and models - and thus find out whether our company is or is not an addressee of this regulation? (hint: it is!)
It is no less important to understand, theoretically and through examples, what it means that the EU AI Act has adopted a so-called "risk-based-approach" and how this affect our obligations under it. This is why we shall also talk about the risk categories into which certain AI systems and/or models are classified and what the assumed risk factors are. Thus, through this lecture, participants should become (more) aware of their company's role with regard to AI-interaction as well as what legal obligations this creates (+ learn a few concrete practical solutions on how to fulfill these obligations and ensure compliance).
